Description of Role

Assemble mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of machinery, hand tools, or systems. Prep, assemble, install or test electronic components, subassemblies, using manual insertion, or related bonding procedures and equipment.

Key Responsibilities of the role

Specific duties and responsibilities

  • Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other in jig’s, fixtures, or other holding devices.
  • Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, solders, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Inspect and package subassemblies, finished assemblies (May perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying device)
  • Perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as labeling, painting, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, parts and assemblies per customer requirements.
  • Perform in-line testing and inspection, using magnifying devices, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment, to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points, using soldering or related bonding procedures and equipment.

Equipment used

  • Air-driven torque drivers, Paint dispenser
  • Manual tools (screwdrivers, tweezers, nut drivers, scribes, wire cutters, etc.)
  • Packing equipment (tape gun, labeler)
  • V-score, Router, Nibbler, Contact Cutter
  • Aqueous wash equipment / Pressure washer
  • Soldering iron **IPC certificate required
  • Microscope or magnifying devices

Qualifications - Minimum

· Lift up to 25 pounds (varies by department)

· Manual dexterity

  • Read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Color vision
  • Ability to accurately read no load drawings and bill of materials for specified product

Qualifications - Preferred

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Knowledge of IPC Standards

Work environment and conditions, travel, potential hazards

  • This is an electronics field service and manufacturing environment that requires the use of safety devices including glasses with side shields and ESD equipment/clothing.
  • Team-based environment

· Frequently is required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The position occasionally involves lifting up to 25 pounds.

  • Lead solder, isopropyl alcohol, flux, RTV, various adhesives.'
